Saturday, September 14th is National Gymnastics Day! This year to
celebrate we are going to open the gym for some extra fun from 2:00 to 4:00pm. What is even more special is that this is a
chance to help a young person in our community! All proceeds collected
will be given to Eva Shidler, a 15 year old former Inspire Athletics team gymnast who has been struggling with severe health
issues for the last 3 years. She has been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and postural orthostatic tachycardia
syndrome (POTS), both rare diseases that cause her debilitating fatigue and headaches, among other symptoms. She is unable
to attend school, so she is being homeschooled and has a tutor that works with her. To read more about her story read this article that was published by a local newspaper on July 3, 2019. As referenced in the article, having a service dog would be
a great help for Eva. She already has the dog and it has received some training, but needs a more extensive training program
so that it can help her with things like picking up items from the ground, getting a water bottle, and brining medication
to Eva. Bending over to pick things up can cause Eva extreme dizziness and even lead to her passing out, so something as simple
as piking up something that fell on the ground, can be a real challenge. Although ultimately we pray Eva will be healed, in
the mean time, helping her dog get this training is a way that we can help support and encourage her.
So join us: Help us raise money for her service
dog to get the necessary training, and let your kids have a blast in the process!. This event is open to children ages 5-18yo.
Kids will get to work on skills with our coaches (all of whom will be donating their time so we can give all donations directly
to Eva), play games, emulate Ninja warriors working through our Ninja Rig, climb the rope, and play in our HUGE foam pit.
A cash or check donation is required for participation. Checks should be made out to Eva Shidler, with "Remington"
in the memo. Donations will be taken at the door. All participants must have an Inspire Athletics waiver form signed by their
parent or legal guardian. This can be done by creating an account in our class control system at inspireathletics.com (if you don’t already have one) or by signing a paper copy on the day of the event before your child(ren) goes
out on the floor.
Please register ahead of time so we can staff adequately
to ensure a safe experience for all the children! Click here to register or call 574-295-4348.
If you are unable to attend
but still would like to make a donation to help Eva, you may do so by going to the Go Fund Me page that was set up for her.
